RSH. The One Branch.By Randall Stephen Hall

I am one branc on one tree.
Your roots and sap sustain me.
I am one leaf on one branch.
What were the chances
That you would meet me?

The seeds that I spin
Will grow within the moss and the green
Between the rock and stone
For we all start alone.
In the basket belly
Of our mother’s home
That one true sound.
From deep within her mound
Amongst that first sound.
We travel out to then come home.

I am the one tree
In a forest of trees.
Can you see my head, my stock?
How our bark and branches
Are born to create chances
For the greater good.
Beside all our cousins
In the dark green wood.

I am the silver fish
In the dancing river.
Where ends the race?
We cannot know
Until we trace the sands
And the shore with small fingers.
Digging and singing.
Like children.

A single branch has a deeper magic
Once seen in the context of the canopy.
So let us move against
The monopoly
For we are only one community.
