I don’t often these days check RTE weather forecasts because they have no relevance to me now. But I did today, on my LAPTOP, and it had me thinking I was hallucinating.
THE Headline “STATUS YELLOW RAIN WARNING FOR SIX COUNTIES” was followed by the legend “A status yellow rain warning is in place in Donegal” followed by an (explanatory – out of this milky way?) statement –
“A Yellow rain warning is in place for Donegal, Mayo, Clare,Cork and Galway, Cork and Kerry” followed by the ignorant statement – “The Warning for Clare, Cork, and Kerry is in place until 12 PM”.
There is no such time as 12 PM. There is no such time as 12 AM.
High Noon and Midnight Cowboy would need to be re- designated.
My Westminster Diocese Church advertises Masses at “!2 PM” but celebrates them at Noon.
The UNIVERSITY OF GREENWICH has notices featuring “12 AM” when it means Noon.
And, God help us, we are expected to keep time with Greenwich.
