— MR GORDON BROWN WANTS PRESIDENT PUTIN TRIED FOR WAR CRIMES . There’s no chance that he will go to catch the President himself. And probably no need for him to concoct a dodgy dossier. It seems to me that has been compiled by experts already. And judges of the calibre of Widgery and Hutton are easily assembled. Journalists of integrity such as the late Robert Fisk bore witness to the worthlessness of the pretext given for the Anglo/American attack on IRAQ which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of mainly civilian Arabs. The UN Sanctions, enthusiastically applied by the UK were reportedly the cause of 500,000 infant deaths. And the death of Dr David Kelly, whether self-inflicted or at the behest of Mr Brown and Tony Blair, attests to their vindictiveness towards someone who exposed their mendacity.
I don’t know whether Mr Brown, like Michael Gove and Douglas Murray, is a paid-up member of the neo-Conservative “Think Tank” THE HENRY JACKSON SOCIETY. But his record stinks both of its contempt for the United Nations and its glorification of Imperial war-mongering. As if Britain had not already got an annual day of jingoistic poppycock and tommyrot masquerading as Remembrance for the unfortunate dupes and conscripts slaughtered and maimed in the First World War, Mr Brown has instituted an Armed Forces Day. I don’t know whether Mr Brown ever wore khaki, but he calls to mind the officer in CATCH 22 who had his men repeat their Oath of Allegiance to the Flag, each morning as they queued for breakfast. In 1948 the Swedish Diplomat COUNT FOLKE BERNADOTTE, the United Nations’ appointed Mediator in Palestine, and the French COLONEL ANDRE SEROT serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Unit were travelling unarmed in Jerusalem when murdered by Zionists. Bernadotte was unanimously chosen for the role by the UN Security Council. He had negotiated the release of thousands of prisoners, many of them Jewish. thus saving them from being murdered by Nazis. One of those released was the wife of Colonel Serot, So the Colonel and the Count became close friends.The bodies of both men were flown to Paris (that of Bernadotte on to Stockholm). The General Secretary of the UN Trygve Lie, US Secretary of State General George Marshall, UK Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin and various French politicians attended to honour the slain men. The UN Security Council condemned the crime in the strongest terms. There was another Swedish diplomat, Raoul Wallenberg ,who had played a similar role to that of Bernadotte in saving thousands of lives from Nazis. He disappeared in Hungary when the Nazis were defeated there by the Soviets. It is believed he died in Soviet captivity. Both Wallenberg and Bernadotte should be equally remembered for their heroism and humanity. But Bernadotte has been airbrushed out of history in most of the world. Reviewing a work by Douglas Murray, the Sunday Times asserted falsely that Wallenberg had been airbrushed out. The paper refused to publish a refutation of that falsehood. Gordon Brown, plagiarising either JFK or JFK’s ghost-writer’s PROFILES IN COURAGE , wrote a book describing 10 heroes acceptable to his friends. They included RAOUL WALLENBURG. They excluded COUNT BERNADOTTE, murdered in 1984. (Shades of Orwell’s “1984”). The man who ordered the murder of BERNADOTTE went on to head MOSSAD and was twice Prime Minister of Israel, Perhaps there should be a NOBEL PRIZE FOR HUMBUGGERY. BROWN would be a prime candidate. If he had to collect it in STOCKHOLM, I doubt he’d have the Brass Neck to collect for Stockholm is one of the few places that remembers the nobility of character of Folke Bernadotte.
