The (London) TIMES today, Saturday 17 December 2022 on pages 10 and 11 carried a
picture taken in October2021 at Chevening the official Country Home of the UK Foreign
Secretary.
The accompanying storyline says that staff there said they had found traces of cocaine
while Liz Truss was Foreign Secretary
The accompanying story line says that staff there had reported finding traces of cocaine there while
Liz Truss was Foreign Secretary, but a spokesman for her claims that the reports were “categorically untrue” and “spurious” , with no evidence to support them.
Cocaine sniffing among Tory Ministers would not be a new departure. The powder is often smuggled into the UK by “mules” – often men who secrete them in their back passages. I know of one Tory Minister who habitually used the drug and I think in his case there was no distinction between the drug’s locus of transportation and its end user.
What grabbed my interest though was that Liz Truss, in October 2021 was photographed with the
Foreign Ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, three especially Russophobic Baltic States.
Could they have been there just to partake of the white powder?
Or do I smell something more toxic?
