CLOWN NA POBLACHTA AND THE NEW DEPARTURE? – by Donal Kennedy

Though never a member of any political party, I’ve always regarded myself as a generic Sinn Feiner and once included under that description supporters of the Irish Labour Party, all supporters of Fianna Fail and even some supporters and members of Fine Gael.

I had some sympathy for Sinn Fein, even when they presented themselves as Exclusive Brethren and hurled anathemas at all whom they regarded political apostates. I welcomed their coming to terms with the concerns of their natural sympathisers. I deplored their wholesale acceptance of agendas pushed by the Irish Times, and The Guardian. The illiberal refusal to allow their candidates to vote according to their consciences on the protection or destruction on human life in the womb continues to shock me.

I have been rereading about the events of 1922 when some Sinn Fein members, most of them recently re-elected to Dail Eireann, the democratically elected  Parliament of the whole of Ireland., met in Dublin on the orders of the King of England’s Viceroy, as the “Parliament of Southern Ireland” and were deemed the Provisional Government.

That was a disgrace whatever was in the heads of those people.

Sinn Fein’s NEW DEPARTURE  in foreign policy, in slavish subservience to the United States, Britain and other warmongers is as disgraceful as anything in history.

The current regime in Ukraine was chosen for it by the United States. and has made that country a
pawn of the United States led by a Clown. Its forerunners were Nazis, which, like other barbarians
were infamous for burning of books. But even the Nazis were not so perverse as to burn their own
works.

That distinction appears to be unique to Groucho Marxists whose motto appears to be “Those are
my principles, and if you don’t like them……well, I have others”

For Sinn Fein appears to have made a bonfire of its former policies.
