Six months ago Angela Merkel publicly boasted that that her 2014 co-authorship of the Minsk Agreements, accepted by President Putin in good faith, was to lull the Russians into a false
sense of security so that the Ukraine junta could arm, train and expand its forces to make
war on Russia.
I had thought that Merkel was a reliable, honest statesperson, not addicted to Bling,
hanky- panky or the boastfulness of many European leaders.
I think that within the last couple of years the EU collectively ruled that the Soviet Union
and the Third Reich were the joint instigators of the Second World War.
They cited the Molotov -Ribbentrop Pact.
I may be simple-minded but I believe that a grasp of Chronology – Sequence of Events is
essential to an understanding of history.
In 1934 Poland and Nazi Germany signed a 10 year Non-Aggression Pact.
In 1938, following Neville Chamberlain’s surrender to Hitler at Munich Poland and Germany
together shared in the plunder of Czechoslovakia.
The Soviet Union in 1939 made a Non-Aggression Pact with the Third Reich. The Third Reich
attacked the Soviet Union in 1941 two years later.
The Third Reich had willing allies in Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lthuania, and in Poland, particularly in
its pursuit of “the Final Solution to the Jewish Problem.”
The Soviet Union liberated much of Europe from Fascism at great cost.
I would welcome corrections to my understanding of events if I am mistaken.

“What leaders of European states can we trust?”
Not Putin, that’s for sure.
