THE GRISLY DEATH OF WEAPONS EXPERT DAVID KELLY AND ITS BIZARRE AFTERMATH by Donal Kennedy

Prime Minister Tony Blair committed his country to war, claiming incorrectly that Britain was in imminent danger of an attack by IRAQ with weapons of mass destruction.

It is inconceivable that he believed that. Britain’s intelligence service since the reign of Elizabeth the First, together with its step-child the American Central Intelligence Agency have been the most ruthless and efficient in the world. US President George W. Bush was bent upon a task of destroying Iraq, uncompleted by his father, and pretended to believe that IRAQ had been responsible for the “Nine-Eleven” bombings New York, and Washington, the work of Saudi Islamic zealots. IRAQ was ruled by the secular BAATH Party, led by Saddam Hussein, following a coup promoted by the CIA to supplant a Left Wing Regime.

David Christopher Kelly, CMG,. was a former head of Britain’s Defence Microbiology Division at Porton Down.

He was part of a joint  US-UK team that inspected civilian micro biology facilities in Russia in the 1990s
and concluded that they were running a covert and illegal Biological Warfare Programme.

Kelly was appointed to the United Nations Special Commission in 1991 and led 10 of the organisation’s
missions between May 1991 and December 1998.

He also worked with the United Nations Monitoring, Verifications and Inspection Commissions (UNMOVIC) and led seven of their commissions into Iraq.

During his time with UNMOVIC Kelly was key in uncovering the anthrax programme at the Salman Pak
facility and at Al Hakum.

(I’m repeating these details from Wikipedia to show Kelly was no wildcat saboteur but a professional
technical man).

The BBC’s Andrew Gilligan, without naming Kelly, reported that the dossier on the imminent threat
of an Iraqi attack on Britain had been doctored by Alistair Campbell, Tony Blair’s Press Secretary.
It has since been established that Campbell arranged for a dossier to complement claims made by
George W Bush, rather than confirm authentic findings of weapons inspectors.

Pressure was put on Dr Kelly. whose body was found with his wrists cut within a couple of days.

But Tony Blair telephoned a former Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, Lord Hutton.

During the 1980s the Labour Peer and Queen’s Counsel, Lord Gifford published a report of Court
practice in the Six County Statelet.

I reviewed it in THE IRISH DEMOCRAT. It described a case presided over by Hutton, where a child
in Derry had been run over by a British Army Landrover, which then reversed over the body for
no creditable reason. The Army was exonerated. Another case presided over by Hutton was equally
badly handled.

I will quote that review when I have the time. But when I read that Hutton had been appointed by
Blair, and then read how they had virtually kissed each other on meeting at the “Enquiry” I knew
what to expect. Even THE TIMES which had published a glowing obituary on Lord Widgery, when
Hutton died categorised the latter’s Enquiry as virtual Jiggery Pokery.

When Hutton was picked by Blair to enquire into the latter’s shenanigans the papers gave us bumph
on his religiosity, kneeling by his bed to pray each night. His care for his soles extended to buying his
shoes at Lobb’s of St James .

Reading the excellent Memoir “Writing Home” by Alan Bennett I came across him setting up some
TV scene in Lobb’s. “The cobblers downstairs had warned the-make up department for the play to
keep out of  ‘this gentleman’s way lest he eat them’ “.”That’s a deplorable thing to say” I say.
“I agree” said Innes Lloyd, “But it’s true. It’s the ex-Emperor Bokassa.”

Bokassa was found guilty of murders and reprieved. Charges of cannibalism  were unproven.

I’m not convinced that he was a greater scoundrel than Lord Hutton, Tony Blair, Alistair Campbell,
George W Bush and all of their friends.

I seem to have neglected to say the normal course when a hitherto healthy man dies from from from
cuts to his wrists for an autopsy and Coroner’s Inquest.

But within hours of the Kelly’s body being found Tony Blair is ssaid to have phoned Lord Hutton who
accepted with with alacrity the invitation to hold an Enquiry.

I seem to have forgotten that Lobb’s of St James, London is the most prestigious footwear manufacturing establishment in these islands.

That whole period stank of British and American chicanery, Tony Blair and his henchman Campbell falling over themselves to back up that moron Bush and the greedy Chaney gang in getting rid of the hideous Saddam. I would put nothing past them, if you can order the slaughter of thousands of Iraqis, what’s a scientist or two?
