PAT+JUDE TALK ABOUT ALLIANCE & UI, BBC 4 PROG AND REPORTING NEI , AND GALLOWAY DESPISING SUNAK

Professor Jon Tonge has conducted a survey in the Alliance Party and has found that the number of  Alliance members favourably disposed towards a united Ireland is much increased. What are the ramifications of that, if any?

BBC FOUR put out a programme last night noting how difficult BBC NI made it for any BBC London journalists to report on social conditions, civil rights, the early days of the Troubles.

Finally, George Galloway says he despises Rishi Sunak and so do millions and millions of British people. Is he overstating things in the flush of Rochdale victory?

Tune in…and you know the rest.

Anna Lo. If you Google it the articles are still there and John Ford’s position is revealing. There was a time when she complained about the orange order parading, so the guy paraded right past her house. George Spence.

Jimbob was very opposed to paedophilia when it was Catholic priests but totally in favour when it was his rugby-playing chum. There’s a book out by the daughter. Important to remember that Jimbob’s parents are both from free Ulster. Maybe he should go back to his own country. What is the story with Free Staters and the DUP? Willie Hay, Middleton etc etc. And Jimbob in his day.
Alliance used to use the economy as an argument in favour of the Union. The demographics mean that it doesn’t matter what unionists think. Anna Lo was their last European candidate. She decided to retire. What age is she?

Leo has been opposed to Gaza from the start. Good to see Harris saying something at last, though.

The programme concerning the BBC featured the Suez Crisis and exposed significant differences between Eden and Gaitskell. The Observer newspaper accused Eden of lying to Parliament about control of the Suez Canal. Eden in conjuction with France ‘decided’ President Nasser should be removed from power. Regime change? The Anglo-French military intervention to secure the Canal was presented by Eden as a ‘peace keeping’ initiative and described by Gaitskell as “an act of disastrous folly.” Events in Gaza suggest Gaitskell was correct.
