Simple Simon on repeat

Simon Harris would appear to have a poor opinion of the electorate’s intellect – or maybe its  hearing.    In that debate the other night he leaped to the defence of whoever it was that Niall Ó Donnghaile sent that offensive tweet to. I don’t know what the tweet was or if it was offensive/poisonous. Presumably it was, since he’s stepped down from politics. But in the leaders’ debate the other night, Simon H repeated the phrase ‘poisonous stab’ or ‘cruelly offensive’ or…To tell you the truth I’ve forgotten the exact wording but I don’t think Harris’s exact wording deserves the time a check would take.My point is that repeated it four times inside the space of five seconds.

He did something similar when he was explaining that he had been Taoiseach for a few months (who knew?) so he listened carefully as he went round the state to find out what was on people’s minds. He then listed things like housing and health, beginning in each case with ‘You told me’, followed by an assurance that he would fix it. See what he did there? Made it sound as though he’d entered politics and the FG party five months ago. Uh-uh, Simon. You’ve been around a looooot longer than that. Except you wore earplugs since you joined FG, you knew all these things you’re now claiming the electorate told you.

I’ll tell you what Simon comes across like. A  blue-mouldy pie trying to pass itself off as piping hot from the oven.

Oh, and one last tip, Simon – no, no, I give it free of charge. Would you for fuck’s sake stop making those faces on the telly when your opponent is speaking. It shows lack of respect for your political adversary and makes you look like an extra from an early Hammer horror film.
