On December 14th 1918, a mere 33 days after the Armistice silencing
the Great War waged by the United Kingdom on the pretext of defending
the rights of small nations, Ireland established a sovereign Republic. In
an election recognised on all sides as a plebiscite, according THE TIMES
of London. Republicans took 73 of Ireland’s 105 Parliamentary seats
Nationalists 6 and Unionists 26.
Before the election the Unionists held 26, the Nationalists 73 which
they sat on in Westminster and Republicans 6, which they would have
boycotted if not languishing, untried in British gaols.
The British have never yet accepted the validity of Irish sovereignty.
They unleashed a terrorist attack on the voters and when they were
unable to break their will nor the pitifully armed Republican Defence
force, they resorted to trickery and threats.
The Republican Parliament, Dail Eireann, survives as part of the
bi-cameral Oireachtas Eireann, but continued British contempt
and terror stands in the way of the re-unification of our country.
Despite the existence of a popularly established all-Ireland
Parliament, on 11th November 1920, the Imperial House of
Commons presumed to proceed with the third reading of a
Government of Ireland Bill by which “every person, matter
and thing in Ireland” was subject to the Imperial Parliament.
and Ireland was partitioned.
Irish Unionists still sat at Westminster. Not a single one of
them voted for the Bill.
Partition was imposed by Britain on Ireland.
Like Mae West’s Diamonds, Goodness has nothing to do with
it.
There was never a plebiscite in Palestine, Lebanon, Mesopotamia (“Iraq”) Jordan or any of the territories seized by the Britih or French from the Ottoman Empire,
“Yugoslavia” and “Czechoslovakia” were not created by “Plebiscite” but by British fiat and fell apart
not once, but twice, never to reappear.
So much for Britain’s commitment to the freedom of nations.
