Did the Soviet Union or Russia since its time ever dishonour a treaty or other agreement?
Did England, or the UK ever honour one in the past 500 years.
It seems that Maxim Litvinov who handled Soviet Foreign Policy from 1929 to1939 was
an extremely “good egg” whose commitment to peace and non aggression mirrored
that of De Valera
(Poland, which made a Non-Aggression Pact with Hitler in 1934 joined with him in grabbing part of Czechoslovakia in 1938. Churchill’s speech in the Commons on October
5th 1938 denouncing the Munich Agreement signed by Chamberlain makes that clear.)
The current Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov appears cut from the same cloth
as Litvinov, and like him speaks fluently and rationally in English.
A pleasant contrast to Anthony Blinken and David Lammy and Joe Biden.
