10 reasons why the Adams verdict was all wrong

 

1. The Dublin jury was open to emotional manipulation that a non-jury court in Belfast would not have been open to.
2. The jury was too young – mid-twenties to mid-thirties – and so wouldn’t have understood the Troubles.
3. The court didn’t allow Austin Stack or Anne  Traver to tell the story of their family loss.
4. The verdict will produce a chilling effect on all journalists – they’ll be scared that Sinn Féin will sue them.
5. Gerry Adams was really the cause of the Troubles, not the person who helped end violence.
6. There’s practically no difference in saying you were in the IRA, and saying you supported the IRA. That’s why the media say Gerry was in fhe IRA.
7. Gerry Adams helped carry the coffin of one of the Shankhill bombers, so he must have been in the IRA.
8. Anne Travers and Austin stack got no justice for the death of their parent/sibling. That shows Gerry Adams was in the IRA.
9. At least five anonymous people on the B(ritish) BC say Gerry Adams sanctioned the death of  Denis Donaldson, so he must have done it.
10. The British government pressured the B(ritish) BC into taking the case all the way to the High Court, so they were bullied into it.
