Today is a beautiful, sunny, near-perfect day. That’s the good news. The bad news is that Pat and I take a look at the state of the world – especially the US – and draw some grim conclusions about the future. We may have a new Pope, but will he be able to live up to the saintly standards of his predecessor? Trump’s reign in the US continues unchecked, and it seems he and his. party can break any law and get away with it. Is the US heading down the tubes and bringing all of. us with him? Or will the people of the US begin to feel the pain of his half-assed economic policy and turn against him.
Meanwhile, the Eurovision Song Contest is looming. Should the south of Ireland withdraw in protest at the inclusion of Israel? And if they do, should they do it in advance, or wait until half-way through the contest and then pull the plug>
The sun is still shining out there, but I’m afraid future generations will ask “What did you do to stop those war criminals rampaging and blood-letting at will?”
