Gerry Adams won his defamation case against the BBC and was awarded a large sum by way of compensation.  I am very pleased that the jury decided on the right verdict. For years the BBC and their allies in the Irish Times have done their utmost to discredit those who want justice and lasting peace in Ireland.

The BBC Spotlight programme presented by Cork woman, Jenifer O’Leary, was found guilty of defaming Gerry Adams by stating that he had sanctioned the killing of former Sinn Fein member Denis Donaldson. It was an outrageous statement. 

The rambling and arrogant response of the local Director of BBCNi Adam Smith shows how arrogant they are in the BBC. They never thought that they would be challenged in court for defamation by Gerry Adams and they never thought they would be defeated in a Law court. They thought they were above the law and could broadcast what they liked.  Their arrogance will cost them dearly.

During the Court case taken by Gerry Adams, Jenifer O’Leary the BBC reporter from Cork, defended her Spotlight programme in 2016 in which it was stated by an unnamed contributor that Gerry Adams sanctioned the killing of the former SF man Denis Donaldson in 2006.

O’Leary claimed that the witness named ‘Martin’ was making ‘an allegation’. The Jury concluded that his remarks were clearly presented as a statement of fact. They found that O’Leary’s case did not stand up in the court.

The BBC had got away with it for years-making insinuations and accusations about people. At last, they have been caught out and found guilty of defaming the man who worked tirelessly to deliver the peace we now enjoy. 

The British government and their agents in MI5 are not very happy. They will do anything and say anything  to stop the momentum for Irish reunification.

In the run up to the British General Election on the 4^th July 2024, the BBC came to Enniskillen on June 19, 2024 to ‘celebrate’ 100 years of the British Broadcasting Corporation. The BBC has nothing to celebrate. 

During the Election campaign in 2024, the BBC came to Enniskillen to try to undermine and discredit Pat Cullen -the Fermanagh/South Tyrone candidate for Sinn Fein. She was invited on to the morning news programme on Radio Ulster along with the Ulster Unionist candidate, Diana Armstrong, to discuss the issues facing the people of Fermanagh/South Tyrone. 

Instead of discussing the issues facing the electorate, Pat Cullen, a former nurse and head of the Nurses Union, was challenged about why she had not condemned the killing of nurses by the IRA. This kind of interrogation of the Sinn Fein candidate by the BBC shows their pro-unionist/pro-British  bias.

The BBC has been promoting unionism and sectarianism on their programmes for 100 years. They have been viciously anti-Sinn Fein, anti -republican and anti- Irish.

I have never heard the BBC confront Unionists in the way the woman with the posh English accent confronted Pat Cullen on that programme. Ms Cullen remained calm and offered an explanation -how she tried to comfort people killed and injured during the conflict. However, that was not good enough for the BBC buffoons with their anti-republican political agenda. They wanted to hear the Sinn Fein candidate condemning the IRA for actions that happened years ago and for which she could not be held responsible.

This was a very deliberate ploy to undermine and discredit the Sinn Fein candidate in the election in Fermanagh/South Tyrone. Who was behind it? MI5?

The Spotlight programme in 2016 was a blatant attempt by the BBC to discredit Gerry Adams. Who was behind it? MI5?
