When two young boys were shot dead by Israeli soldiers yesterday, the Israeli Zionist government issued a statement claiming that two young ‘suspects’ had been ‘eliminated.’ In other words, the two unarmed boys were summarily executed by the Israeli army and that was that. The two boys were ‘suspected’ Hamas members and therefore their killing by the Israeli forces was justified.
We have had a similar experience here in NE-Ireland under British rule when young people were summarily executed by British soldiers -eliminated because they were ‘suspects’. ‘Shoot-to-kill’ was official British government policy. Many young men, like my cousin, Michael Leonard, were targeted by British intelligence and then executed sometimes by the RUC and other times by British soldiers or loyalist death squads in the pay of the British.
So it is little wonder we do not hear much protest from Downing Street about the genocide that is now going on in Gaza.
Most decent Irish people are appalled at what is going on and that Trump and the Yanks are supporting this genocide. So long as the genocide goes on the Dublin government should have nothing to do with Trump and the White House. March 17th is not far away. The EU and the British government also support the war against the People of Palestine.
The Churches and religious leaders must do more to show their abhorrence and opposition. They must boycott businesses like Allianz Insurance that are connected to Israel. They must do more to help the poor and starving people of Gaza.
This genocide must be stopped.
We see that the Dublin government led by MartinFF and HarrisFG are opposed to the renaming of Herzog park in Dublin. Some local councillors wish to take a stand against the genocide of the Palestinian people. Let us hope that the local council will give FG and FF their answer tomorrow night.

You are spot on Father. Unfortunately it has always been that way.
Dublin politicians should be sorting out the problems of it’s electorate, instead of getting involved in the dealings of other countries. There are plenty of rich Muslim countries that can help Palestine.
The problem there is those rich Muslim countries use the horrific plight of the people in Gaza for their own ends. It is definitely complicated. Trump allows Israel a free hand, he bombs Iran for them. However Muslim dictators like MBS welcome him with open arms and lavish expensive gifts on him. One of those oil rich countries gave him a huge plane. Even though he helped Israel blow the crap out of their fellow Muslims? Go figure as the Americans say.
