PAT+JUDE TALK ABOUT THE WORLD CUP, OUR NEW SoS CHRIS BRYANT, THE BELFAST FLEADH & ULSTER-SCOTS

So – how was it for you? No,  not that – the World Cup, I mean. There were some wonderful games, some terrific skill and team work, some dirty hacking (yes, I’m looking at you, Argentina) and the final game was beyond hopeless , the only thing worse was  the half-time ‘entertainment’ (which Wayne Rooney said was ‘Crap’ and the bit he enjoyed best was when it ended. And did you. know.  you’d have had to cough up about one million dollars for a good seat at the Final?

Andy Burnham has ridden into Downing Street on his charger, and has declared a new age for Labour. Where have I heard that before? And how will Chris Bryant, once an Anglican priest and now happily married to his husband, is to be the new Secretary of State in the Occupied NEI. Will he focus on the needs of NEI, or the needs of England? Answers on a postcard to Pat.

In early August, for the. first time, we’ll have the Fleadh. in Belfast. They plan to include Ulster-Scots speech and dancing. Can’t say I’m a fan of U-S, but I’m sure there are lots who are, so well done to the Fleadh organisers that made room for them. They expect 800,000 visitors during the week. I think that’s  a bit ambitious, don’t you?

OK – turn off, tune in and drop out…
