Since the signing of the Belfast agreement in 1998 the Dublin Government is obliged to pursue the Referendum on the Border. Micheál Martin during his time a Taoiseach has steadfastly refused to pursue that and prepare for that, thus giving the Loyalists the chance to resurrect the Orange Order’s demand to walk along the Nationalist Garvaghy road. Their agenda is still domination and will always be domination over the Catholic/Nationalist population so long as this artificial statelet remains in existence.
Today we see the results of Martin’s policy of appeasing the unionists. They clearly do not buy into that. The Orange are still stuck in the past. There is no progressive Unionist leadership to lead their people to a process of reconciliation with all the people of Ireland.
Micheál Martin should be ashamed of himself and Fianna Fail should find a leader to bring all the people of Ireland together.
