I’d quite like to add another dimension to this blogsite. That’s why I’m starting what I hope will be a weekly series of photographs. They don’t have to be taken during the past week and they don’t have to have (but can have) a political dimension. I’m just looking for photographs that are striking/beautiful/thought-provoking. So feel free to send me any you think would fit – I plan to put one up each Saturday.
This first one: it’s taken by a very fine photographer known as Antrim Lens. The woman in the picture is Emma Rogan and the event is a Relatives for Justice event held at Féile An Phobal this year. Emma’s father was shot dead with others at Loughinisland and as the photographer tells me, she’s managed to cope with the loss and pain of loss. There’s a strength and vividness to her appearance and no doubt her father would be proud of her.

Great idea and good start
Thanks Jim
Could I suggest a picture, or two which you might find of interest?
Some of the English dailies have the photos of Gloria Hunniford and the woman who scammed her out of £120,000 by going to a branch of Gloria’s bank and personating her.
Gloria was on the radio this morning talking about it, and admitted the bank had recompensed her, but she was most indignant that any bank employee could think she looked like ‘that woman’, more or less suggesting the employee should have gone to Specsavers!
I was wondering if Gloria thought the scammer to be too beautiful to be mistaken for her!
It sounds a humdinger, Sherdy – but I fear copyright would have me in the dock…
But I’m sure all of your followers would be there to support you, and no one would miss your execution!
What better way to go.
What a refreshing idea Jude.
Thank you, moser…
