These two photographs are odd, quirky and a little bit mysterious, like the man who sent them, James. I like them and I’d be interested in how they strike other people.

These are from John Patton (you can see loads more on his blogsite, www.phototilly.eu ). John says: “Three images from my spell here in Gaoth Dobhair (Co Donegal). For the technically minded, I have just bought a CSC camera , FUJI X-T1 and I am extremely pleased with the results. It is , of course, a great deal lighter than an SLR and capable of acceptable pics in low light as shown by the three guys in the bar.”

This was taken by Martybo: “There were trees being planted on Divis mountain in memory of each hunger striker. This photo was taken while Bik McFarlane was speaking of Bobby Sands. I think it’s the face of someone who had been there.

These are from the inimitable Antrim Lens: “I only got out once this week with the camera, so I headed round to Randalstown Forest hoping the deer rut had started, but I was a week or two too early. I still had a great day and spotted lots of wild deer roaming the forest including this beautiful wild mother and daughter which cut across my path in the first photo. The big stag in the second photo was in the deer enclosure at the entrance to the forest and he didn’t mind me taking a seat and keeping him company for 10 minutes or so.”

This last one, from my friend Eileen, isn’t really a pic – more a joke. Apparently the man posed with the question on the programme Tipping Point thought hard and said “Gerry Adams”. You can see why he didn’t want to show his face.

Statue: It’s time to take a scroll. And while Dolmen might tell no tales it’s time to
give one of them a telling off.
Dolmen : Go on, blockhead. I’m all (yawn) years.
Statue: While imitation might well be the sincerest form of f. rest assured,
rockhead, that mock imitation is also the sincerest invitation to, erm,
assault and battery.
Dolmen: Go on, pock face, give me your best shot. I can scroll with your best
paunch.
Picture 6 is Jennifer McCann MLA who was captured along with Bobby Sands at the time of his arrest.
