This Saturday afternoon at one o’clock I’ll be in the Kennedy Centre with Jo Spain, author of two novels, With Our Blessing and Beneath the Surface. I’ll be asking the questions (or some of them) and Jo will be responding. There will also be a chance for members of the audience to ask questions, but just in case you’re tied up at home greasing the cat’s boil or some such household task, why don’t you suggest a question you’d like to be asked and I’ll try to squeeze it in. But all are welcome at the Kennedy Centre. If you come, do say hello to me – and no, MT, you won’t have to reveal your real identity…

“and no, MT, you won’t have to reveal your real identity…”
lol I don’t know why but I always imagine MT to look like the DUP’s Christopher Stalford. Lurking in a darkened room, the only light coming from the computer screen…..with a picture of Queen Elizabeth II on the wall leering down on the scene…..MT’s Christopher Stalford bug, insect like eyes narrowing with every line he reads of my comments on this blog…….even Horror film master John Carpenter would shudder at the sight…..
I sometimes go to the Kennedy Centre on a Saturday but unfortunately not this week, I did my grocery shopping today because this Saturday, just like last Saturday, is a major day of Sport. Ireland vs Austria in a World Cup Qualifier (We haven’t beat Austria in over 50 years, since Johnny Giles was in the Irish squad…), Ireland v Canada in Rugby and I will even watch the Serbia v Wales game because it can effect us in our group. Then later its Dubliner Conor McGregor trying to make History by being the first Double Champion in two weights at the same time in MMA. On top of this I have to go the barbers as well, if my hair grows anymore I’m going to end up looking like something out of the 1970’s.
If I was up on Saturday I would have attended and even said hello to Jude and introduced myself. I would’ve also have kept an eye out for any Christopher Stalford look a likes…. lurking in the background, surveying the scene, with the dead light of hypocrisy glinting in his eyes…..
PS: just in case you need told MT, I’m Joking.
Hi again, Jude, it was nice to meet you (and Jo Spain) in the Kennedy Centre today – the book launch was a fitting introduction in Belfast to a terrific novelist.
I am not a contributor to your blog but enjoy very much reading it – especially at times like the present when many people are in a ‘stop the world I want to get off’ mindset.
