David Jeffrey has been manager of Linfield FC and is currently manager of Ballymena FC. He is also a man of seriously limited vision, or else he takes the rest of us for fools. If you are of a nervous disposition, maybe stop reading here.
Because David Jeffrey was on the radio today urging those involved to give up on the whole Casement Park thing. It was, he said, “too divisive”. Besides, no more than five games in Euro 28 were likely to be played in it.
You have to hand it to wur David for chutzpah – assuming he realises how knuckle-dragging his words are. It’d be too divisive if, having attended to the needs of the rugby fraternity with Ravenhill, having attended to the needs of the soccer fraternity with Windsor Park, the authorities were to address the needs of the GAA fraternity with Casement Park.
Maybe David does the magic realism thing. Were Casement Park built, were the Euro 28 games played in it, the park would then…evaporate. Vanish. Cease to exist. What would be the point in it remaining in place, once the Euros ended?
Psst, David – have you heard about this organisation called the GAA? It seems they play football games, and hurling games and camogie games, and…No, on second thoughts, David, go back to the cave.

Very good jude free Palestine
Thank you, James. Ditto….
Heard him Jude!
Do people not realise the income from these five EURO games would prob pay for the stadium!!! lol
He’s not been Ballymena manager for a while though!!
You can take the boy out of Windsor park but you can’t take Windsor park out of the boy. I am sure David is a very good father and husband and brother but he is a working class loyalist who was born into the northern state where Fenians were not quite so uppity and they knew their place. To people like him Casement is a rebel dive. That’s just the way it is. It will take another few years to wipe away the stain of orange supremacy.
Big Davy likes to portray himself as the voice of reason yet for some strange reason he always comes across as so unreasonable.
