Trump gives a masterclass in political imperialism – by Fra Hughes

Trump and JD Vance used many disparaging and derogatory words and phrases during their media briefing with dictator Zelensky in Washington.

Some words they did not use include “sit” presumably Zelensky was already seated,”down boy, “roll over” and “fetch” but I think we and especially Zelensky and his European backing choir got the picture. There is a new sheriff in town, the war’s over, give us the minerals, open up Ukrainian markets to further American capitalist exploitation, sign whatever we put in front of you,and “be a good boy.”

That just about sums up the press conference concluding the private meeting in the Oval Office.

If the public spat portrayed in front of the assembled world media was even a minor reflection of the conversation held in private, what a priceless nugget of political gold that must have been.

Zelensky who appeared pale and possibly on “medication” like a boxer who has taken many blows to the head came out swinging, but like any boxer past his best fighting days,he did not land a punch, although he was on the ropes for several rounds.

He came across as a spoilt petulant child refusing to suffer the ignominy of a public dressing down.

Much like when parents put a child to bed early without dinner, Zelensky was told to go to his room metaphorically as lunch was cancelled and he was literally asked to leave. A big mac perhaps I hear you say?

European liberal elites are furious. It was their war too. Germany France Britain, the “big guns” have been cheering on the death and destruction in Ukraine and much like Biden they are willing to fight to the last Ukrainian?

1 million dead Ukrainian soldiers and god alone knows how many injured and disabled,how many have fled the draft,how many refugees have now spread across Europe ?

Some refugees, like the white Ukrainian appear more acceptable to the European elite than brown or Black or from Sudan Iraq, Yemen, or Libya. White Anglo-Saxon racism is alive and well and sadly growing as witnessed by the rise of the far right in the EU.

Trump has stated categorically “the war is over” as far as his administration is concerned.

In fact the neo liberal war on Russia would never have begun during his presidency?

Zelensky was informed by Trump he could continue the war but without American support, he implied Ukraine could have an end to the war on better terms with American backing than they can alone.

He left Zelensky with the unpalatable taste of defeat by Russia on the battlefield and defeat by America in the boardroom.

Make no mistake, Trump means to end this war by any and all means necessary.

Putin has already instructed his administration to prepare for American capitalist engagement in Russian Federation markets and Zelensky, once he has time to digest Trump’s demands, will, in my opinion, simply tag along like the “good boy doggie” he has always been.

He slavishly followed Biden’s dictat when it suited him now he will have to follow Trump’s dictat even when it does not suit him.

The only potential fly in the ointment is the European union member state leaders who are vehemently Russophobic. Can they go it alone without America in continuing the war on Russia?

History has proven Britain France and Germany could not succeed in occupying Russia and it will not succeed now. In fact the war against Russia is not even being fought in Russia but in Ukraine .

The EU and its much proposed European army cannot for long sustain Ukrainian delusions of recapturing Donbass. They will only succeed in losing more Ukrainian territory and lives to the Russian “special military operation”

The war is over for all intents and purposes.

To continue this travesty will result in more needless deaths.

Is one million dead, a European economy in tatters and the threat of war across mainland Europe not enough for Starmer, Macron, Schulz et al?

The war mongers have filled Ukrainian bellies with lead and their own pockets with gold. Enough already, lets get this finished!
