MAGA and indeed Trump and his cronies have become known the world over, in the past couple of weeks, as a band of conspiracy theory nitwits who will literally believe anything Trump tells them if it in any way adds to the Make America Great Again saga,
From declaring that only the President can tell America what is law to getting rid of the Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) – Trump’s and indeed Musk’s cutting of huge parts of the US government and institutions has left America, shall we say less great, than what many expected.
For many MAGA cultists, cutting of the DEI meant that non-white people working and living in America would be not only be less well off than white Americans (which says a lot in itself) but partnered perfectly with his efforts to send many immigrants back to their origin countries ironically leaving the US lacking in labour and a work force in the fields and the more laborious jobs many Americas don’t want to do.
What MAGA cutting the DEI was a racial measure. What they didn’t figure on was that many of their own ilk depended on it. For instance, the DEI covered disabled people working 4 hours per day, it covered veterans (which Musk and Trump have cut specifically in addition to DEI), it included pregnancy and time off work for women and the accommodations their work would need to make for her being a mother and so many more benefits to the working American.
This all came on the back of wealthy corporate leaders, including billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman and conservative activist Robby Starbuck, decrying diversity programs on social media…namely X (Twitter). In step, some US companies, including the nation’s largest employer, Walmart, have backpedaled on some DEI initiatives, including racial equity training programs for staff and evaluations designed to boost supplier diversity, not to mention laying off thousands of staff.
If that’s not enough to worry the American public, Trump recently took steps to pick and choose who he includes in the WHite House Press Pool. The rotation of Press Pool reporters was previously determined by the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) which decries Trump’s decision, saying it “tears at the independence of the free press”. With freedom of the press being one of the pillars of US democracy and an important freedom (freedoms which MAGA enjoys boasting about) we have arrived at a point in US history where a sitting US President is attempting to essentially allow only the news he wants heard to be available on the airwaves. Some might call it state media, some might call it an attempt at spreading state propaganda. Either way, it’s a dangerous precedent at a time when the world is in utter chaos thanks to Trump and his cronies.
Trump has declared himself King, has essentially called for ethnic cleansing in Gaza, and shared a video of ‘Trump Gaza’ in which there are golden statues of himself decorating town squares. Make no mistake, Trump is not supposed to be making money from his presidency, but he is, and will be and this is most likely his first attempt at doing so. While some may see this as for the birds, and it probably is, his call for ethnic cleansing in Gaza was real, potent, and upset a lot of people, even in America.
Yesterday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine visited the White House to formally sign over access to Ukraine’s minerals and metals to America. No one needs to be told that Ukraine was invaded by Russia, it was on headlines and on the airwaves for months and continues to be so almost every day. However, Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator” and said it was his fault that Ukraine was invaded and that Russia was entirely within its rights to invade Ukraine. With UK Prime Minister Starmer in the room he rolled back on that “dictator” bit as no doubt that was a bit much even for the GOP to stomach (did you know the GOP fear physical attack if they speak out against Trump?).
My opinion is, Zelenskyy was lured to the White House in an attempt to ambush and bully him politically and publically into signing away the entire rights to Ukraines Mineral and metals deposits. The publicity stunt turned into a farce with JD Vance berating Zelenskyy for not thanking the US enough for it’s support. Essentially an attempt to humiliate and embarrass the Ukrainian PM on the world stage, something MAGA will love.
Trump later wrote on his Truth social media – “He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace.” Peace to Trump comes in the form of Ukraine handing over its rights to its own minerals and metals, while giving Putin all the Ukrainian land he has taken…and Trump wants Zelenskyy to thank him for that?
America has become the bully in the playground under Trump. He doesn’t negotiate, he threatens and bribes. He wants to be king of America, which is why he grovels to the likes of Putin, Kim Jong Un, and other dictators of the world. It’s why he sides with genocidal states like Israel because they use force before diplomacy. America is in for a rough ride and if Trump has his way, we’ll have him for a third term, which goes against the US Constitution…which a Republican Representative has already has already attempted to change.
Beware that tyrannical government America. Beware.

But Zelensky wasn’t wearing a suit. Show some respect and dress like Elon Musk. Geez, we’re bound to have a MAGA baseball cap in your size.
