The Occupied Territories Bill, to end the Republic of Ireland’s trade connections with Israeli firms, remains on a shelf somewhere. Why is it that Senator Frances Black has been trying for years to get this passed and has been blocked?
Trump is in a trade war with China. Ironically, other countries such as Canada and the EU are asking themselves if China doesn’t provide the stable economy which the US doesn’t, and if closer trade ties with China might make more sense.
Meanwhile, Trump has tried to help out his buddy Elon Musk by doing an ‘Mm, what a lovely car’ and having Teslas parked in the White House driveway.
Finally, Trump’s war on elite US universities like Columbia and Harvard may be facing a back-lash, as the EU offers increased funding for academics from the US to find a new home in Europe.
It looks as though Trump is having a global influence, but not in a good way….Hit the button and cheer yourself up…

The occupied territories bill. Does that mean the Republic of Ireland would also have to stop doing business with the UK if it was enacted? Maybe that’s why it was shelved.
Does that mean we stop trading with China and Iran and other countries with less than stellar human rights records? (America?) The horror of Gaza has to be condemned but Israel is surrounded by hostile states. Donald Trump tore up the Iran nuclear deal and now he is supposedly working on…….an Iranian nuclear deal. Rhetoric gets you nowhere.
