President Trump has not said he’s “locked and loaded” for an attack on Cuba. That reference was to Iran. But that doesn’t mean he likes the way Cuba is run. He’s on record that he doesn’t like the Cuban habit of locking up its own citizens (no,no, Virginia, the poor man is getting old – of course every country – especially the US – locks up its own citizens). He’s put travel and financial restrictions on Cuba. As he sees it, Cuba is run by a bunch of commies (his Secretary of State is Marco Rubio’s parents loathed the Cuban government and came to the US), whereas he would prefer to see it restored to its pre-Castro glory when it was run by brothel-keepers and the Mafia.
The US literacy rate is 99%; the Cuba literacy rate is 99.8%. The US has 3.5 doctors per 1,000 people;Cuba has 9.4 doctors per 1,000 people.In Cuba, health care and education are free; in the US you better produce your credit card.
Not bad for a bunch of commies. But Trump and Rubio would like to change all that Trump has promised “to expose the crimes of the Castro regime” and stand with the Cuban people in their struggle for freedom and democracy. (Btw – when Trump threatens military intervention, he doesn’t mean that HE will intervene militarily. From 1964-68, Trump dodged Vietnam because he was a student (how else would he be as smart as he is?) In 1968 he got military deferment because he had bone spurs. He was never enlisted, commissioned or in the Reserves. So when Trump talks about kicking ass, he means he’ll get some guys to do his ass-kicking for him. I mean, you don’t expect a war-monger to actually participate in war>
Prediction: if Trump ever attacks Cuba and attempts to run it, he will find that the Cubans won’t open the doors to the US bordellos and financial bandits: they’ll fight to the last drop of Cuban blood.
Imagine being a serious career soldier, prepared to kill and die for your country. Then imagine having to go off to foreign lands to help the Trump family add to their coffers. Trump has zero respect for the American military, he didn’t even know what Pearl Harbour was. He talked about the Revolutionary army taking over the airports in 1776. He ridiculed the war dead, wouldn’t go to a memorial as it was too windy and he is a draft dodger. Yet millions still fall for his lies. His cult has elevated him to almost god like status, a man who has cheated on all three wives. Never underestimate the foolishness of some people.
Why doesn’t the Cuban regime put it to a vote then? Oh yeah silly me, I forgot. Cuba doesn’t have any democracy.
The Yanks apparently have “democracy” which apparently entitles them to kill millions worldwide and shoot their own citizens on the street.
The only people who should interfere in Cuba are the people of Cuba. Nobody is saying Cuba is a great country or communism is great but it is their business, nobody else’s.
I think there’s a lot to be said for Cuba, and for communism when you check out capitalism..
But they do have lots of CIA tourists…
